“Driving from Sydney out to Orange (my home) over bells line. Though we weren’t directly affected by the 2019-2020 bushfires, many members of the community are volunteer firefighters and there was anxiety during the whole time. I remember checking the fire map every hour or so and making a fire escape plan. This regular occurrence of bushfires has shaped my community.”
“I have selected Sisters Beach. I have lived here for 20 years. It is surrounded by National Park - one road in/out. There are indigenous caves on either end of the beach, and walking tracks. It has been a welcome relief, particularly during this pandemic, to walk daily on the beach, and of course, noting the environmental changes. It has provided me with much stimulus for paintings. Depending on the tide, I look out for the fish trap - but as yet to see any fish trapped!”

“This is what I see on my afternoon walk to the beach. The cloud picture looks like a new world landing on our old one and it was taken during lockdown - which is kind of what it felt like.”

“Australian Design Centre is where I work. It''s a gallery, a shop, a hive of creative activity about all things craft and design.”

"This is a three colour print I did of the landscape I grew up in. May look bleak to some but is, my country, my roots , my landscape."

“These are my community. It is not a single place and includes people from many cultures, religions, languages, backgrounds. The performers. The Stage Crew. The Production Team. We form very strong bonds during each performance/event and they last a lifetime. Their bond sustains me in everything that I do.”
